Privacy Policy
Falka ("Falka", "we", "us") helps groups collect and share photos and videos from an event in one shared album. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

What we collect
- Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and the name, country and (optionally) profile photo you provide. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and Google profile photo.
- Content you add. The photos and videos you upload to a plan, and basic information about them (who uploaded each item and when).
- Plans and membership. The events ("plans") you create or join, their dates and location text, and the list of members in each plan.
- Invite data. The invite codes used to join a plan.
- Technical data. Standard technical information needed to run the service securely (for example, authentication tokens).
How we use your data
We use your data only to provide and operate Falka:
- To create and secure your account and sign you in.
- To let you create plans, invite people, and share photos and videos with the members of a plan.
- To show who took each photo and who is in a plan.
- To keep the service reliable and safe.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your photos or videos for advertising.
Who can see your content
Photos and videos you add to a plan are visible only to the members of that plan. Your profile (name and photo) is visible to the members of the plans you belong to. Your email address and account details are private to you.
Where your data is stored
Falka is built on Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore and Cloud Storage), operated by Google. Your data is processed and stored on Google's infrastructure. Google acts as our data processor; see Google's privacy information for details on their practices.
How long we keep it, and auto-deletion
Falka is designed to be tidy. Photos and videos in a plan are kept until the event has ended and everyone in the plan has downloaded them, and are then automatically deleted a short time later. Media is also removed after a maximum retention period regardless. You can also delete individual items or an entire plan yourself at any time (as the owner).
Deleting your account and data
You are in control of your data:
- You can delete individual photos or videos you uploaded, and delete plans you own, from within the app.
- To delete your entire account and all associated data, email us at hello@falka.app from your account's email address, and we will remove your account, your profile and the content you own. We will complete deletion within a reasonable period.
Third-party services
- Google Firebase — authentication, database and file storage.
- Google Sign-In — optional sign-in method.
These providers process data on our behalf to make Falka work.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including access rules that limit each plan's photos to its members and keep your profile private. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
Children
Falka is not directed to children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, in the EU/EEA under the GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@falka.app.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date above, and for significant changes we will provide a more prominent notice.
